Grand Canyon Area Activities and Tours:
• HELICOPTER TOURS
The breathtaking helicopter flights leave from the GC airport daily (a two minute drive from the hotel). There are two choices of helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon to choose from:
A 45-50 minute helicopter ride over the entire Grand Canyon is a once in a lifetime spectacular experience. On this flight you will fly over the world’s largest Ponderosa Pine Forest to the eastern end of the canyon and north over the East Rim where there are amazing views of the Painted Desert and the Desert View Watchtower. From here you will follow the Colorado River upstream to its merging with the Little Colorado River and then above the North Rim back though the Dragon Corridor, the widest and deepest part of the canyon.
A 25-30 minute flight north over the canyon and Colorado River though the Dragon Corridor (the deepest part of the canyon) toward the North Rim and back.
• AIRPLANE TOUR
For over seven decades, this exciting tour has put millions of visitors in the front row seat to view this natural wonder of the world. See the famous “Confluence” where the Colorado River and Little Colorado River join and experience the ever-changing incredible colors and shadows of the canyon from above. This tour is approximately 40-50 minutes in duration.
• GRAND CANYON GUIDED TOURS
There are a number of day tours of the Grand Canyon. From 4 hours to 6 hours to 8 hour tours with more in depth stops and viewing based on the time of the tours. All the tours pick up in 12 person vans (include beverages throughout the tour) and the longer ones include lunch. They pick up directly at the hotel. Geology, wildlife, native people, and nature are discussed in depth.

• SMOOTHWATER FLOAT TRIP DOWN THE COLORADO RIVER (Full Day)
There is an outstanding tour that departs the Grand Canyon Airport (less than 1 mile from the hotel) at 6:00 am with a beautiful air tour of the Grand Canyon, Colorado River, and Lake Powell landing in Page, AZ where breakfast is served. A Native American guide picks you up for a spectacular visit to Antelope Canyon. You are then transported to the bottom of Glen Canyon Dam where you begin the relaxing and picturesque 15 mile float down the Colorado River (Smooth Water) where you will stop to view ancient petroglyphs. A bistro boxed lunch and beverages all day is included. This tour is a full day returning around 6:30pm.
• THE ABSOLUTE CANYON ADVENTURE: JEEP TOUR~WHITEWATER RAFTING~HELICOPTER RIDE
Rediscover that adventurous someone inside of you...your day begins early with a 5:15am pick up at the Grand Hotel. You are transported to your jeep (approx 2 hours) where you descend the rugged trail to the bottom of the canyon to the Colorado River. Once you arrive at the river your river guides will meet you to take you on a 40 mile white water rafting trip experiencing up to level 7 rapids as well as some smooth water. You will stop at two beaches to explore and hike to Travertine Falls (approx 1 mile). A deli style lunch is also served at one of your stops. After your fun on the water and you come ashore, a helicopter is waiting to fly you up to the Western rim (approx 15 minute flight to transport you from the river to the rim only). Transportation will be provided back to the Grand Hotel and you will return at approximately 8:30pm. This comprehensive and exciting day is certain to be remembered for years to come!
Soft drinks, juices, water, snacks, and cookies are provided on the raft. Dry bags for extra clothing, cameras, etc are also provided.

• JEEP TOURS
There are a number of jeep tours to do throughout the area. The Sunset Jeep tour is a wonderful option to enjoy wildlife viewing as you travel through the Kaibab National Forest to the Grandview vista point to enjoy the stunning Grand Canyon sunset. Also enjoy an afternoon visiting Ancient Indian Rock art.
• JEEP TOUR TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GRAND CANYON
Enjoy a full day’s trip from the hotel on motor coach to beautiful caverns and then a jeep tour down to the Colorado River. Lunch is served along the Colorado River.
• HIKING EXCURSIONS
There are a wide variety of guided hikes offered into the canyon and along the rim. They pick up directly at the hotel and include back pack, lunch, water, and hiking poles.
• HORSEBACK RIDING
Enjoy a trail ride, campfire ride, or wagon ride through the Kaibab Forest. Horse stables are located less than 2 miles from the Grand Hotel. (Please note that these rides do not go into or view the Grand Canyon)
